This article started with explaining how people with families in the military having not to deal with money issues. The only problem is with all these people needing to get paid is all the budget cuts. Is it worth it to pay for these families and do they have enough money to support families?
The article then goes on to explain their own personal views on the topic. They gave exact examples of families that are going to have a hard time without funding. "Jenelle's husband returned they would realize their dream of adopting a baby. But they soon found out that the mission was scrapped because of the threat of automatic cuts. Not knowing what the future holds, they're hesitant to begin the adoption process." The author is trying to make us feel like cutting these funds could damage hopes and anything that is possible in their lives.
I think the author potrayed their opinion through real life experiences with the people who depend on these funds. I don't think people should completely cut the funding for the military but maybe they don't need to be funded for life. At some point they can't rely completely on the money. Yes they have plans with that money but we have a lot of things needed with that money. It's not just about the families personally its about all of the people who need that money. Maybe for a while they should be supported but not forever.
This is really interesting! I think people don't always think about how war really ruins a family, and isn't really brought up.
