A goodbye that can't happen

*Spoiler alert*

I am almost done with a book called What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen. This book was about a girl named Mclean whose parents got divorced a couple years ago, and moves around a lot. In each new place she tries a new strategy. In the new place she has moved she just wants to be herself. Although she is still struggling with custody issues and her father wanting to move again, she still feels like this new place is home.

Mclean's relationship with her mother is strained. After the divorce Mclean chose her dad's side blaming her mother for it. Mclean's mother still tried to maintain a relationship with her, but she just wanted her mother to leave her alone. After trying to settle in to her new life and her mother calling again and again and suing for custody she realizes if she wanted to stay at her new home she has to make a move. I admire her for putting aside her real emotes and do something to stay at what she has come to think if, for the first time in years, as home.

Mclean hasn't bothered making friends in any other town, but here she hit it off tight away with some friends, and they helped he rake it her home. To me it seemed like were the reason it was her home was because she had friend. The moral of the story was kind of to be yourself, but it didn't really seem like that to me. To me it seemed like the moral of the story is look around you don't make your only decisions for yourself, but every event and person in your life makes it for you.
